Fifth Grade


The pinnacle of Elementary academic memory is the year spent in 5th grade. This is where we begin to bridge the gap to Middle School.

The 5th Grade team seeks to create a challenging learning environment that encourages high expectations for success through development appropriate instruction that allows for individual differences and learning styles.

We pride ourselves in making lesson presentations interesting and engaging for all students.

We strive to have our parents, teachers, and community members actively involved in our students’ learning.

The 5th grade curriculum is rigorous and meaningful as it prepares the students for the challenges of not only middle school, but life in general.

Our core focus…

Reading: using the FCAT strategies and developing independent thinkers and readers.

Language Arts: writing instruction that incorporates and crosses the various disciplines.

Math: basic fundamental concepts and advances problem solving strategies.

Science: Physical and Life Sciences Concepts Social Studies: Geography, U.S. History as well the U.S. government system.
